Hopewell Residential is currently building 155 townhomes in Mahogany. This project is a collection of stylish rental homes that will be available in the Spring of 2026. The location is in the heart of Mahogany, a walkable distance from the lake, cafés, dining, shopping, and essential services.

The Gryphon

Marda Loop, Calgary, AB​

  • Type: 6-Storey Wood Frame Apartment – 191 Units

Hopewell Residential is the general contractor to build a 6-storey residential apartment building on just over an acre in the heart of Marda Loop. This building will feature 191 modern luxury units complete with underground parking and lots of commercial retail space in one of Calgary’s most desired walkable inner-city neighbourhoods.

  • Type: Townhomes – 7 Buildings & 1 Amenity Building - 52 Units

Hopewell Residential is partnered with the HomeSpace Society to build 52 units of 2-storey, 3-bedroom townhouses. These homes are to provide affordable family housing, as a part of the City of Calgary’s housing strategy, as well as a large amenity building, playground, and parking.

The Park at Radisson Heights

Radisson Heights, Calgary, AB​

  • Gross area: 8.77 Acres
  • Type: Stacked Townhomes – 20 Buildings - 230 Units

Hopewell Residential is building 230 units of stacked townhomes in Radisson Heights for the non-profit organization Attainable Homes Calgary, who are removing barriers from owning a home. This project contains 3.05 acres of park space featuring a playground, dog park, and basketball court.

Hope Heights

Crescent Heights, Calgary, AB

  • Type: Four-storey wood-frame apartment – 35 units

Hopewell Residential is one of the builders who participated in the former Resolve program, dedicated to creating affordable housing in Calgary. Hope Heights is an affordable apartment-style building geared towards women and children in need. Hopewell worked with HomeSpace on this building, and the project was turned over in November of 2024.

Garrison Green

Citadel, Edmonton, AB

  • Duration: 2022 – 2025
  • Gross area: 122,219 sq.ft. residential
  • Type: Wood-frame stacked townhomes – 12 buildings, 119 units ​​

Hopewell completed 12 townhome buildings creating 119 units as an affordable living project to serve Edmonton. Accessibility was a major focus on this project with several units that have ground floor access to accommodate those with mobility and other challenges.

Sandgate

Mahogany, Calgary, AB​

  • Type: Wood-frame apartments over single level parkade ​

Hopewell completed the fourth and final building of the Sandgate project in July 2025. This four-storey wood framed apartment was a for-sale project that had possessions happen throughout the summer.

Secord Chalet

Secord, Edmonton, AB

  • Type: Wood-frame row townhomes ​

Located in a Hopewell Residential community in west Edmonton, Secord Chalet is comprised of multiple blocks of two-storey wood-frame townhomes. With either a single- or double-attached garage, each townhome features two to three bedrooms and ample living space. This project is complete and is fully sold and occupied

Brett Friesen

Brett Friesen, P.Eng.

Senior Vice President, Business and Community Development

As Senior Vice President, Business and Community Development, Brett oversees all Hopewell communities, new land acquisitions, and multi-family construction management contracts and client relationships.

Further, Brett works to facilitate land development, manages lot inventories and future land supply, and oversees management of all onsite construction and community maintenance within Hopewell projects.

A graduate of the University of Calgary Engineering Program and a registered Professional Engineer, Brett has been with Hopewell Residential since 2005. He is the Past Chair of the BILD Calgary Region Board of Directors and serves on various committees and initiatives within BILD Calgary Region, along with serving on various community Boards.

Dennis Aucoin

Dennis Aucoin

Vice President, Multi-Family

Dennis Aucoin is Vice President, Multi-Family at Hopewell Residential, where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the multi-family division. This includes the delivery of apartment and townhome projects within budget and on schedule. Dennis plays a key role in evaluating potential opportunities and conducting due diligence to ensure Hopewell makes sound investment decisions.

With over 15 years of experience in multi-family development, Dennis has successfully managed the construction of more than 1,500 residential units. Today, his responsibilities cover strategic planning, people leadership, and overall operational management. His leadership ensures that projects align with the company's strategic goals, supporting Hopewell Residential’s continued growth.
